Language school

CILF is a centre of language consultancy born from the union of the sales experience of the owner Mrs. Devonish Morett and the passion for teaching of the educational coordinator Mrs. Elena Bonafè. Together they have carried out this project to offer the community a variety of services and linguistic paths of top quality.
CILF provides language courses for individuals and companies as well as translation and interpreting. Our language training covers all the needs and requirements in the various professional and private fields, ensuring the achievement of objectives.

Methodology

CILF is a modern school based on the teaching of modern languages. In an environment where quality is a must despite a warm and informal environment, students can fully develop their ability to communicate in a new language, while improving their skills in speaking, reading, writing and listening comprehension.
CILF follows a pedagogical approach based on oral communication so that student s can practice the language as much as possible during the lesson, reaching a quick fluency and good pronunciation in a short time. Classes are held in the classroom as well as outdoors, enriched by cultural walks and social events that make the attendance even more living and pleasant. Our native speaking teachers, highly qualified and with great passion for teaching, will guide students while motivating and inspiring them throughout their learning and foreign habit acquisition journeys.
Lessons will be tailored according to the individual requirements of the student and his/her professional area, integrated with a rich educational material: a language lab, DVDs, CDs, newspapers, magazines and educational games. A rich library will be at the student's disposal.

Languages

CILF provides language services for the following languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Arabic and Italian for foreigners.

Our teachers

Teachers at C.I.L.F. are native speakers who are experienced, passionate professionals of the education, highly ambitious and helpful, chosen through a selection process that tested their teaching and linguistic skills, as well as their charisma. All teachers teach their mother tongue and periodically attend updating courses to improve their classroom skills to be able to provide you with the most innovative learning techniques, creating a pleasant environment where you can get to know new cultures.
Course levels
Assessment of the level of language proficiency is achieved by an initial test which includes oral and written comprehension, essay writing, grammar, syntax and conversation. This test ensures our students study at the correct level, in accordance with CEFR – Common European Framework of References for languages (A1 – A2 – B1 – B2 – C1)
Basic Language Use (Elementary)
A1 Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.
A2 Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.
Independent Language Use (Intermediate)
B1 Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.
B2 Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.
Proficient Language Use (Advanced)
C1 Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.
C2 Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
